Oh yeah...I'm a New Yorker, alright...

Emily got harcore LOST today! Woohoo! It had to happen sometime, good think it was when I didn't have to be anywhere important...OH WAIT! YES IT WAS! Haha. I can laugh about it now, because it was stupid. Since we had only been to the Weinstein dining hall, Mallory, Alinane, Jae and I decided to check out Palladium. So, we all walked there together and had a spectacular lunch of fresh fruit, a nice grilled burger and some onion rings (sooo bad, I know, but we also looked at the sports center, and I think I'm going to sign up to take a step class soon). I then realized that I forgot to check if I had any other GSP orientation activities, so I decided to cut my lunch short and head back to the dorm to check my schedule. So, Palladium is somewhere like E. 14th and 3rd Ave, so I was at least smart enough to get on E. 10th, one of the streets my building is on. Then I just started walking. 3rd Ave...2nd Ave...1st Ave..."Good," I thought. "The numbers are getting smaller, so they must turn into words...I bet the next street will be Broadway." Because that's ultimately where I needed to end up; 10th and Broadway. However, instead, the next street was Ave A. Avenue A? Alphabet City?!? I totally wound up in Alphabet City! The tunes of "Seasons of Love" and "La Vie Boheme" started up in my head, and I turned around. Haha. I finally got back to the dorm at 2:30, and checked my schedule. I had a lecture on internships and career services (not actually as important as it sounds) at 2:30. Where was it? PALLADIUM! Haha. I was so disgusted at the afternoon. I'm glad I got lost, though, it's good to know what's beyond my building and in what direction.
Late morning, GSP had the showing of The Reality Show, which every school ultimately has to see. It was actually really good and well-done and sort of funny. Basically, some Tisch kids write and direct a musical about problems we might encounter our freshman year...roommate problems, health problems, New York City problems...it made me happy, which was weird, but it was an adorable musical, and those always put me in a good mood. The people in that musical are the people I want to be friends with. UGH I REALLY wish I were in Tisch. Seriously. But I'm not, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Last night, I did end up going to see Hammerkatz, the NYU sketch group. It was decent, pretty funny but not very intelligent humor. I did like the base of their sketches, though, but some things could be delivered in a better, smarter way. I'm auditioning for the group, I just need to find out when it is.
Tonight is Rocky Horror Picture Show time! Woohoo! Excitement.
I think I'm going to find someone who will take a subway with me to Midtown. I just want to see more of the city beyond the Village.
Until later!
